so i am just curious on how many of you care about how your pc looks even though not many others see it? do you do it just for personal accomplishment or what? another reason im asking this is because im very heavily considering grabbing a different case for looks as it wouldnt really change much performance/cooling wise just for pure aesthetitcs and i am very torn because besides myself nobody really sees my pc.

People who really want to show off their build will go to PC events where you show off your rigs.

I think a lot of people (including myself) just do it for self-satisfaction.

Although that might make me a hypocrite seeing as how my profile pic and profile banner are both my computer.

It depend on were it is. My computer sits on a desk in plain view so I do not want it to be an eye soar in the room.   I love when company come over and sees it and are in ahhh. But if it sits under a desk or out of site then its kind of pointless to go overboard on looks.  But that being said If you put time and effort into building your PC why wouldn't you want it to look its best.

Don't care about aesthetics at all. Uninterested in having to spend more because of this trend, would be essentially happy with an old 1990s beige tower.

People who seek out hardware first and foremost because it fits aesthetics are especially weird to me. Like going for MSI because the cooling is red.

I prefer that my PC looks very clean especially the cables. This is something I focus on and take the time to make sure this happens when the build is complete. I take more pride when the cable management is very clean. I also try not to have a wide range of colors. Other than that it's not that important.

I think for me, I like making things and I take pride in what I make whether it be a rig or anything else. I did spend a lot of time picking all of my parts for aesthetic reasons and my finished system I think looks amazing. That being said i rarely have many people look at it, I have had a few nice comments from customer who have visited my home office and obviously my friends are impressed but other than that I just like having a nice looking well built system I can be proud of.

I dislike LEDs and don't really need window. Case sits under the desk so only time I even look at it is when I'm not at the desk. That being said, inside in windowless case is Noctua cooler (my 2nd). I do pick bit with looks. Like i wouldn't put anything red, gold or yellow inside. So far its only ruled out Asus Z87 mobos, on the other hand, last AMD/ATI GPU in there was Radeon 9600. After that, 3 nVidia cards (none because of the looks).

I do it because I have a deep interest in computer hardware and I want my pc to look cool and nice and neat.

Besides, you don't know what wonderful things can come from it.

1 of my buddies, my girlfriend, and 2 of my female friends, after coming to my house and see my pc, asked me to build one for them and even paid me money to do so, lol. (my girlfriend didn't pay me money though, I got something else)

CPU: Ryzen 2 2700@ 4.0Ghz    Mobo: Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 Wifi    Cooler: EVGA CLC 240    GPU: GTX1080 FTW DT @ 2113Mhz   PSU: EVGA 750W P2

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C   Displays: 34" LG34UC79G, 24" Dell

I do like colored cases, but I dislike windows and leds. Same goes for inside. I like a bit of color, but no leds or lights.

I also dislike these weird designs that make no sense, but it's the same for anything. I like stuff to look aesthetically pleasing. I think that's pretty normal, but then I don't care too much how the pc looks cable management as long as there is sufficient air flow and it works as it should. Generally I pretty much forget about it. Ideally form and function have to meet as one, but function is my priority with a PC so now I have a small black thing.

I used to have this really awesome red case which got damaged in transit once, but I found it super hard to find any other companies making standard cases that aren't black or covered it ugly plastic extra bits or have stupid windows.

Pretty normal to like things that look nice.

i take great care in making my main workhorse look very, very plain. a computer exists to process the things you look at on your screen, and if those take that long to happen that you need to stare at your rig all day, you need an upgrade ;)

that said, i totally have a few other builds that i made completely obnoxious for shits & giggles.

If it makes you happy, do it. A nice PC really is a work of art and even if nobody sees it but you, if it makes you smile it's worth it.
