New budget build for gaming

Greetings. I am planning a new PC build. Link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wtThr7

(I'll be adding a Samsung Evo SSD from my previous PC)

My budget is 500 euro and I am in Greece. This budget is strict and cannot be exceeded.

The PC will be used for gaming, e.g. Rocket League, platform games like Ori and the Blind Forest and Shiftlings or Little Nightmares, simulators like Euro Truck Simulator, possibly some ARPG like Grim Dawn, adventures such as Walking Dead, etc. Nothing too heavy. I want to be able to play at 1080p and 60 fps at medium settings at least.

I'll be using a single 1080p LG 22MP57VQ monitor that I have already and I don't plan to move to more monitors in the future.

I do not need to purchase keyboards/mice/external cd/dvd reader since I have them already too, but I will need to buy an Xbox controller.

I will need an OS, preferably Windows 10.

PCPartpicker gives a warning of incompatibility:

  • Some Intel H110 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

How do I overcome it?

Any other advise about the build is welcome. Thank you!

Seek and you shall find.

You've got one problem. You'll need a Sky Lake CPU to do an update for it to work with Kaby Lake. Unless the manufactures do send their motherboards with new BIOS.

what does green cs has to do with seasonic s12ii

i suggest him 1x8 ram so why does it matter that his board has 2 ram slots?

  1. You said look at the SeasSonic. Which means changing out the current PSU. There are different models. Green and Grey CX PSUs.
  2. nevermind I thought you mean 4 dimm slots. My bad.

I'm wondering why you use US PCPP since you live at Greece
Here's my suggested build using Euros as currency:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor  (€64.57 @ Mindfactory)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-H110M-S2H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  (€63.84 @ Mindfactory)
Memory: Crucial - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  (€60.13 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Video Card: MSI - Radeon RX 570 4GB ARMOR OC Video Card  (€200.89 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Corsair - 100R ATX Mid Tower Case  (€48.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Power Supply: SeaSonic - S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  (€65.39 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Total: €503.72
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

1. Asus H110-K has electrolytic capacitors which may have shorter lifespan. I changed it to a Gigabyte one which has all solid caps. Make sure it has an updated BIOS.
2. Changed GPU to RX 570, provides more performance than 1050TI
3. Get cheap Windows from Kinguin.

Desktop specs:

Spoiler

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB Gigabyte B550M DS3H mATX

Asrock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8Gx2) 3600MHz CL18 Kingston NV2 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Montech Century 850W Gold Tecware Nexus Air (Black) ATX Mid Tower

Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16ACH6

Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 8+128

I used US PCPP to show the parts because I know this is the format preferred in here. Also I do not know how else to present the components to reflect my country. Any advice is welcome :) Also, thank you for the build, it looks very nice.

Also, will I be getting a legitimate Windows key form Kinguin? The price difference is quite big.

That's a good question about the Windows key. It's kind of unclear, but I wouldn't expect any support from Microsoft if anything goes wrong. The keys do work, according to everyone I've spoken with about it, but their sourcing is a little questionable. My recommendation would be to build the PC, put a gaming distro of Linux on it (not ideal, but a good temporary measure) then buy a full, non-shady version of windows when your budget allows for it.

Best of luck with the build!

EDIT: I advise that you get a motherboard with the B250 chipset, rather than H110. Having to buy a Skylake chip just to do a BIOS update would be pretty annoying. Gigabyte has a few decent options in your price range, though I'm unsure of their availability in your area. You'd need to do some research.

Everything I know I learned from the internet. Also school.

Current Desktop:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 @3.65 ghz, Cryorig H7

MoBo: Asus Prime X470-Pro

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Super OC

RAM: 2x8 gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @2666mhz

PSU: 650W EVGA SuperNova

Storage: 120gb SK Hynix SSD, 240gb SanDisk SSD Plus, 1 TB 2015 WD Blue

Case: Corsair Carbide 100R

Peripherals: Logitech G Pro keyboard, Razer DeathAdder Elite, Logitech G305, Logitech G600, 24" AOC FreeSync 1080p monitor x2
