Your not going to get a GPU for $100 that beats a 1070. Maybe look at the RX  580 8GB though as it is slightly faster than a 1060.

He said $100 less

And I don't think so, the 580 is a little better than the 1060 like he said, what do you plan on using it for?

That's... not how it works. Aside from that, we need more information - what are the specs of the machine you're upgrading? What are you replacing? What's your actual budget? Where are you located?

Since AMD has not yet released a current-generation card faster than the RX 580, your options for GTX 1070-like performance are the GTX 980 Ti, or R9 Fury X. The performance bracket that the 1070 fits into has always cost $350 and up. There is no brand new card that performs the same and is $100 less. Economics, and etc.

The 980 Ti can supposedly end up somewhat faster than a 1070 when overclocked, but you'll probably have to buy second-hand for the pricing to make any sense at all. I still see them for $600+ on Newegg.

The Fury X can be close to the 1070 in some games, but I think it's clearly the slower card on the whole. And like the 980 Ti you may have issues finding a new one in stock at a reasonable price.

Why would you pair a 1070 with an i3?

also r9 fury x or 980ti used

That's not how money works. You won't get something close to the performance of the 1070 for that much less, unless you get lucky on ebay...

You're asking for too much power for so less. Unless you go used or refurbished high end cards you're not going to get matching performance of a 1070.. or just buy a new 580

Let's see, the only thing that "destroys" a GTX 1070 is a GTX 1080 Ti or a Pascal Titan. Good luck finding those for cheap.

I had to do a double take, because I was like "a new GTX 580? Those bastard merchants are still charging almost near MSRP for those!"

Low end prebuild systems might not have a psu that supports 980ti. Also check that you have enough space inside the case.

We can't invent a product for you that doesn't exist. If that's your budget, you'll need to find a cheaper card. The RX 580 or GTX 1060 are good alternatives, and frankly you don't want an i3-4330 if you're shooting for GTX 1070-level performance anyway.

Tell us about your monitor. What's the resolution and refresh rate? Also, what games are you going to be playing, at what settings, and what framerates do you hope to achieve?

Plus isn't the Fury X hella expensive?

Try looking on your local classified sites. I've seen people sell brand new graphics cards at a discount because they either upgraded right away, or didn't use them. You can also try finding a used 1070 or equivalent and that can save you some money as well.
