I have a g4560 cpu with 8gigs of ram, should I get 16gigs cuz why not? or upgrade my gpu from 1050 to 1050ti.

If I had to choose either one, I would go for GPU upgrade but not from 1050 to 1050TI, go for better GPU like RX 470/570/480/580 (make sure that your PSU can handle it)

But yeah, CPU upgrade is better IMO

I have the G4560 in a system. That is more than enough for most games. I would suggest getting an RX480. 8GB of ram is enough. You probably want an 8GB version of the RX480. The other suggestion would be a GTX 1070 but the price of those is still quite high.

Going from the 1050 to a 1050Ti will likely disappoint you as would the jump from 8Gb to 16Gb for a system like that.

Like has been said already, making the Jump to a better GPU is the better option, but I would really save that little extra and get something in the RX line from AMD.

If you can snag a last of run 470 or 480 for less than the price of a new Rx5XX card then you are laughing.

I think it's another "usage case" kind of thing with regards the RAM.

If you only want it for general gaming then 8gig is fine...you may as well wait or just spend the money on something more worth while...

...which in this case is arguably a CPU upgrade (your current CPU could very well be bottlenecking your GPU).

Personally, if I were in your position, I'd upgrade to a Core i5 (it might even be worth picking up an unlocked i5 and an aftermarket air cooler to overclock it (air coolers are generally cheaper than closed-loop water coolers, they last much longer and they're not prone to leakage, because they don't have water))

Basically, if all you're doing is general day to day multitasking and gaming, the reason not to upgrade the RAM is it's needless expense, especially if you're sticking with that CPU; because the CPU is probably already bottlenecking your system and, if not now, almost certainly will if you upgrade the RAM and GPU any further).

Also, yeah...1050 to 1050ti...though the advertising and hype might make it sound like a good idea, generally speaking, if you have to go through the hassle of doing it and paying the extra for it, it's probably not worth it for the increase you'll see.
