$3500 PC, FX 9590

SethAFitzgerald

Again, something that I had received free of charge for review purposes. Had I been forced to buy all of these parts with my own money, maybe I'd be using slightly more "efficient" components but I might as well use what I have.

Ok sorry for the ignorance,Hope to see your build :D

9590 is usless, an OC'd 8350 is fine. Spending more than 200 dollars into a CPU should be when you look at an i7.

If you're spending $400 on a processor, Intel is far superior. $400 for an overclocked 8320? Bullshit. I am not criticizing you, just AMD. Nice build though.

you cant get through a fan boys thick skull

I had a H100i the first time I put in the FX heat monster... Standard clocks its coped at idle but would turn into a wind tunnel as soon as you do anything that puts a bit of load on the system... And no hope of an OC...

So I did this

Very interested in the Arc XL.

Do you have it on hand? How is it so far? I'm wanting to get one to improve airflow to my 2x7870's, I think my Bitfenix Ghost is restricting too much air.

You might already know this, but it doesn't scale like that.

Fractal Design just sent me the Arc XL, Midi R2, and Mini R2. However, I've done little more than take them out of the box. So, I'll circle back soon with a full opinion.

From what I can tell, it should be a great case for airflow though.

Passmark Scores

FX-8320 - 8133

FX-9590 - 10414

Difference 28%

Closer to 22, higher than I expected though. Of course I don't even know if Passmark includes FPU calculations.

Problem with % is that there is more than one way to look at it...

8133/100 = 81.33

81.33 x 28 = 2277.24

2277.24 + 8133 = 1041.02 (not quite the same as I originally rounded down to 28% from 28.046231402926345)

Oh, ok, I see. 28% improvement with a 22% difference then.
