I observed that ISP rates are going down in a huge margin within few months. I don't know about other people but in my location, my ISP provides broadband internet and the minimum speed is 50MBPS for just 7.5$! For 7.5$ you'll get 50 MBPS speeds upto 75GB and after exceeding limit it drops to 1MBPS that's a huge price reduce.

I think so, In my area $90 got you 110/10 which is what I have rn, Now you can get a gigabit for that price. and 500 down for $60

Still not as comparable as the speeds people in europe/asia get.. If only america didn't get fucked over by the big companies :(

That goes for phone services as well.

The minimum 100/2 plan costs just 23$!  But before for 23$ you get 20MBPS 100GB and after data cap speeds is 2 MBPS. There is a 50 MBPS plan in between of these plans introduced for 23$, you get 50/2(100GB). This all changed within 1 year. But 50MBPS to 100MBPS just 6 months.

Before the plans are really way pricey when compared to new plans of my ISP. I used to pay 17$ for 40/2(90GB for 40 and 2 unlimited) but now you can get 50/1(75GB for 50 and 1 is unlimited) for just 7.5$. Which is less than half the cost. There is a better one for 11$, you get 50/1(120GB for 50 and 1 is unlimited) which actually has better value.

Well in 2014 we got 10/0.5 for C$80, in 2015 that changed to 5/0.1 and in September 2015 they introduced this plan but still sell the old plan 5/0.1, now for C$70.

But if you sign 2 year contract and are the customer of the other incumbent (telus, what linus uses) you get it for $40.

It's a bit harder to compare prices based on speed in Australia because for a lot of people the speeds haven't changed. There are some unlimited plans now and for those the difference between prices is the speed. But for a lot of plans you pay for a quota and you get whatever speed you happen to get. Purely because the infrastructure for higher speeds is not available.

With that said, 10 years ago I was on a plan with a 25GB quota for $90AU/mo. My current plan is 250GB for $60AU/mo. All on 8Mbps because that's the only service that's available here. If I did have a fibre service in this area? I could either get 250GB @ 12Mbps for $60AU/mo which is basically what I'm on now. But I'd have the option to pay more and get 100Mbps for $100AU/mo with no quota.

In 2004 I was on a plan with 25GB quota for 2MBPS and after that data cap I get 1 MBPS for 9.5 usd, changed the plan in 2015 as I got new XBOX ONE as a present.

Other countries are very different than we are. ei. I get an unlimited 100/50 line for $43.95 usd per month. I can't even think of a US company that charges by the amount used anymore, it's all about the transfer speeds. Lots of other countries have it like our old cell phone plans, so it is great that they are giving them tech that has been around for over a decade, especially since Microsoft and so many other companies use them as cheap labor for innovations we use. Let's face it, pay a phone tech $13-$17 an hour in a low income area in the US, or $7 usd in another country? Glad for you @M.A.P.

7 usd in another country? Glad for you @M.A.P.

But I'll go with 15.5$ one as I get 100/2 with 300GB data limit. 7$ in India is actually not cheap, 15$ is costly in India so it isn't cheap for us too. I'll request my dad for upgradation of plan everytime, 15$ is some serious cash here. 15$ is 1500INR which gives you a lot of money. You can check few living a day in India with 20$ challenges too you'll get an idea how the prices are so expect the income to be a lot. In that 20$ challenge(hostel fees included) he successfully lived in India and had around 6.5$ left that is 400INR.

Wow internet is cheap where you are. If you want good internet where I'm located in the US it'd cost you about $45USD or 2,903.18INR according to Google currency rate exchange

It is not cheap for us 1000 or 1500 INR itself sounds like more as you can live with 20$ a whole day in India and still have 6$ left, that should give you and idea about prices and income in India. Those prices are cheap in US but not in India but hugely reduced before for 23$ I used to get 50/2 with 110GB data limit but now for 23$ I get 100/2 with 300GB! This all happened in 6 months.

You realize that at the total amount of data used is fixed, right? So at 75 gig, or 120 gig, or 300; that's what he gets for the month, then he is screwed with transfer speeds dropping to 1/1. My phone plan is like that, 10 gigs on my my line at 4g, then 3g after 10 gigs is used, but still no total limit on how much I use. Trust me, unless you are in a very remote part of Alaska where you can only get satellite, it is far cheaper here.

No, after exceeding data cap you get 1 or 2MBPS depending on the plan.
