I am very confused as to what I need in a PSU, and I plan to upgrade my pc eventually adding something like a 250-500 gb SSD or bumping up the proccesor or gpu.

This ^^

Its the most underestimated part of a build. But its the most important part. If its not stable or malfunctions everything else will stop working or get damaged.

Looks nice, and is in my price range! Sweet!

if youre spending so much on a build, i wouldnt skimp out on the psu, try get a semi modular gold if you can, or save up a little and get a fully modular, higher end corsair psus are good but the bronze ones suck.

And yet also better quality, rating means very little (Other than efficiancy, can be a good sign, but still not directly related to quality).

Well duh? The NEX is a much more expensive power supply and it is much better than the 600B

Quoting here: "You can't go wrong with either, but it's true the EVGA psu has a better price/performance appeal. Don't be discouraged by the fact that people praise Seasonic; Seasonic is indeed more expensive, and both PSUs are the same"  So I would think saving for saving some bucks is worth the little bit of less quality

What does that have to do with anything? G1 units arent very good value, the SS-650KM is better there.

OP, this is goibg to be about the best you can get at that price point:
