Can you use the thermal passe that comes with the CPU Cooler, or do you have to buy a more expensive one to get maximum performance?

there are only small differences in all thermal pastes so you are good with the only that comes with the cooler.

The thermal paste that comes with the cpu cooler is good enough to cool your cpu and for overclocking.
