Budget 1st build ? 1100 USD half home/college + gaming with a 4K TV

HI, I am planning to build an 1100 USD Ryzen build and conflict in many places.

A) CPU

1600x + air cooler

or

1600 with stock

1600x has higher speed while 1600 provides the stock cooler, saving the price for an aftermarket air cooler

B) if air cooler which one?

Budget ~40USD

looked at cryoH7 and 212Evo

opinions?

Mobo will be a B350, not sure what but something affordable

16gb DDR4 RAM 2400 (8x2)

480 GB PNY SSD >>  6gb sata  +   2tb seagate HDD

Case: NZXT s340

C) GPU

1060 6gb

or 1070

1060 has been what I've been looking at, because of the affordability to performance, while the 1070 would boost my FPS, and would make my build ~ 1100USD , right around my budget.

PSU: EVGA 500w B1 >> is this enough?

Get a 1600, use stock cooler and use the money saved to get either a GTX 1070 or RX 580

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Better PSU. H7. 1600 and get an aftermarket and just OC it. 1070, if you have to choose between the two.

i would either go with a nice aftermarket cooler or just stick with the stock cooler because the ryzen cpus have a very specific area where the temp ramps up quite fast so unless you are spending the money on a nicer cooler capable with dealing with those ramped temps you are better off just going with the stock cpu cooler and overclocking to the point just before voltage and temp starts to increase alot. as for the psu you should get a nicer one then the one you are looking at. although it provides enough wattage it also is of very low quality and i wouldn't recommend buying it especially with the money you are spending on this build. the reason being that a poor quality psu can end up harming the rest of your hardware and that would mean you are out a pretty penny with the build you are making. also you want the readability of a nicer budget psu that way you don't have to worry about it failing on you because that can be frustrating especially if you are using this computer for school. i would look into the seasonic s12ii as they are relatively cheap while still being of good quality.

With the 1070 you will be able to push 30 fps at 4k with all on ultra or 60 fps on high ( considering the preset: ultra/very high/high/ medium/low)

Got you a build, not ryzen though. The i5 6600k is really great for gaming and some light editing and also it includes a 1070 within your budget.

I will warn you, gaming with a TV creates a lot of input lag, getting a 1080p 144htz or 4k gaming monitor would lead to a much better overall experience, unless your planning on doing just single player gaming.

This build is great for $1100, and should be able to play a lot of AAA games at 4k high.

He is probably fine if he turns off frame interpolation and noise reduction unless he's really into twitch shooters.
