overclocking 7600K to 5.0Ghz

Hello All

so I have just built my new Kabylake system

Specs:

asus Z270E strix

asus gtx1070 strix

core i5 7600K

cooler master hyper 212X ( push/pull )

G.Skill 2x8GB ddr4 3200

samsung 750 evo SSD

WD black HDD

Thermaltake smart 550Watt PSU

I have updated my bios to the latest version and did a clean Win 10 pro install and

did some CPU overclocking, until my graphics card arrive and I managed to get 5.0Ghz but didn't test it for a long stability test but anyway I want to ask is 1.355v for this CPU is high ??

I searched the internet for days and I didn't find the max Vcore for the new Kabylake CPU's

my current OC profile :

ram : XMP 3200

core ration : 50x100

vcore : 1.355v

temp : max 84 / avg 78

I am a bit new to overclocking the CPU

I had previously core i7 4790K but I didn't overclock it

( noob here ):D

Your voltage is fine but make sure to stress test it.

1.35v is fine.

Most people can go up to 1.45 safely as long as temps are ok.

thats good to hear ...

do you know what is the max voltage for Kabylake ??

also i run realbench and cinbench with no problem with that overclock

but when i run the stress test in realbench after 25min it stops and says system unstable

i chose 16gb and 1 hour stress test

yeah i saw some crazy voltages on the internet but i dont want to risk my CPU :D

my temps are well under 80C with some spikes for less than a sec the maximum it reached was 84C

the problem iam having now is i cant run adaptive mode for the voltage because when i boot to windows and check the voltage in CPU-Z it shows 1.45v so iam stuck with manual mode

I did a stress stability test today with AIDA64 for 1 hour with no problem

I also ran real bench stress test for 1 hour with 4gb ram and full fan speed

those are the results i got

the problem i have now that i changed the voltage from manual to adaptive and set the total cpu voltage for 1.360v

but when i boot to windows and open cpu-z and hardware monitor i see the voltage goes up to 1.404v and down to 1.392v when the cpu hits the 5.0Ghz

so is that a faulty reporting or is it from the bios or what ?? I am lost ...

i have the latest bios update right now

Why did you downgrade from a 4790k to a 7600k?
