Hi guys, im shopping for a new computer chair that can provide good support for my back and could be comfortable for extended period of work\gaming

Dxracer? Other compagny? What are your input?

Imagine the racing chairs as more of a "forces your back into a proper position" chair that is comfy for shorter term and better for you. while an office chair is more of a cloud of mush that you sink in and can relax for a long time, but doesnt help your back. The racing chairs can keep you more focused and help gaming because you arent feeling like you are sleeping in a cloud.

I don't know the company (or companies) that make them, but I suggest getting a mesh chair. They're usually filled to the gills with ergonomic options for the higher end ones and they're breathable, so you won't be getting swamp-butt after a few hours.

They're sturdy as well. I've had one for years and it hasn't shown signs of sagging or whatnot.

I have a DXracer and i love it. BUT when watching movies and such i prefer grabbing my laptop and laying in my bed because its a more comfy experience for that kind of stuff. But for gaming I prefer the DXracer over my old office chair much more

Odd. All the mesh chairs ive used started sagging within 6 months to a year. and after a year were almost unusable because my butt would hit the metal bolts and whatnot and the plastic in the back

Bucket seat designs are for racing. They help keep the driver in their seat during high lateral G-force cornering. Are you going to be experiencing high lateral G-forces when you're at your desk? No.

Sounds like you bought a low quality one. The ones I've used never sag.

Don't be as stupid as i've been. Do NOT get a racing chair.

For long gaming sessions you want something comfy, not something that's designed to keep you in place when going through a corner at 120km/h or whatever.

It doesn't make sense. They look good, but they just aren't designed for the situation.

Again, don't be stupid and get a chair that's meant for a desk, not a race car.

The "racing seats" chairs are really a bucket seat, its just a flat seat just designed to look similar to one. when gaming seriously you want to be focused and positioned upright usually. if you are going to be playing super casual games or just casually then yeah a office chair or something will work well because you just want to be comfy

If you're comfortable and well supported, ergonomic issues are the least of your troubles and hence you can concentrate on what's in front of you. Plus if you're someone like me who gets shoulder cramps from poor ergonomic chairs, gaming sessions would have to be cut short or interrupted to alleviate the pain.

Ergonomics and comfort trumps anything else in a computer chair. This is something you are probably going to sit on for hours at a time.

not in my experience. When playing CSGO on hours upon hours on end I prefer the ergonomic chair vs the office chair. I found myself with the office chair wanting to sit back and relax more, taking attention and concentration away from the game, whilst the ergonomic chair keeps me focused more

Office chairs can be ergonomic. They're not mutually exclusive.

I prefer the super comfy office chairs, because even when I'm gaming seriously, ergonomics have never been an issue for me when using them. I solo queue'd my way to global in CSGO using my overstuffed armchair (didn't have anything else haha), and it worked perfectly fine. Although if you really wanna go super hardcore and grind late night or something, yeah get a DXRacer or some shit.

do you know the brands to look out for? i've been searching for a replacement chair

Well the gold standard is the Aeron Chair by Herman Miller, but that's like buying the Ferrari of chairs. I found this one at Staples that works fine for me (the head rest is kind of janky though)
