ASUS Prime X370 Pro without CPU

Go to solution Solved by RGProductions,

Normal Behavior. In fact, your old system was abnormal.

Hi I have just built most of my new PC excluding CPU and cooler due to the fact I'm waiting on the 1600X, however I just wanted to check if all the fans and LEDs would turn on for a second like they do on my old z87 machine without a CPU, however I got absolutely nothing, not even the power LED on my RX 480 came on, is this normal behaviour for this board to exhibit without a CPU or do I have a dead component as I have gone over every connection and it all looks fine, thanks for your help and time

nothing will work without the CPU im pretty sure

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Pretty sure that's a AMD only aspect. All of my Intel systems can be powered on (LEDs fans GPU fan) without CPU

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Thanks guys, panic over! I was just expecting the power LEDs to come on but looks like they are not supposed to do so, (I also wanted to see the glorious RGB RAM in action haha)
