Hi peeps i got a 7700k last weekend and have it under a evo212 with mk4 stock voltage no OC. It reaches 100c under prime95(i then stopped running it :/ ) and I've seen up to 90 while gaming already. Is this normal for this configuration? I don't have a problem upgrading cooler etc if it's normal but it seems a bit extreme.

Thanks.

That's not normal at all. it should be way lower, especially at stock speed.

re-mount the cooler, and make sure you have adequate mounting pressure.

No it's not normal.

Make sure there is no plastic still on the cooler and that the fan is running.

They try replacing the thermal paste and mounting the cooler again.

Most plastics melt at higher temperature than 100C.

Also, you would be able to tell if there was melted plastic.

I bet your "stock" voltage is actually too high.  Common issue with older BIOS and Kaby Lake.  Hell, even new ones aren't getting it right.

I tried manualy setting my V to 1.24 in the BIOS and then my CPU load wouldn't max out. Pics on the way.

Sorry not 100% what you mean :P Does this help?

Yes it does.  Your RAM voltage is really high for a stock or XMP setting.

Humor me and turn off XMP.  Reboot and make sure that your memory speed drops to 2133 and let me know what DRAM Voltage is then.

Seems to be off already, i set the ram to 3200 manually. I'll switch to auto.
