Scrapyard wars?

Go to solution Solved by NXMaster,

The basic idea of scrapyard wars is Linus (and whoever else is doing scrapyard wars) going on places like craigslist to get parts for the cheapest amount possible, and to create a computer under a certain criteria. They can also have a budget.

Very entertaining to watch.

Watch the first four seasons

You will not be disappointed. Production value is on par with TV programs

You should really find the time to watch the old scrapyard wars. But basically they have a set budget to go out and find used parts/build what they need and then compare builds to see who has the best performance and best aesthetics... and Linus cheats a lot

I just saw the Hype of scrapyard wars on Twitter and Wan show episodes on LTT, but as I've subscribed to LTT only about a month ago, I don't know what it is.

Would you please explain me this.

(Watching those looong episode of 4 seasons is not an option)

I suggest you SW series 1 to get an idea of what it is about.

How about you watch the first 30 seconds of the first video to actually learn what it is because they always explain it at the beginning....

As much as I would like to, I simply cannot right now, and by the time I get free the newer season would roll out, so that's the basic reason for the question, to know what it is and would it be interesting for me, coz again time..

But yeah I find it interesting, so I'd definitely watch it.

The new episodes probably wont be out for another two months.

It's kinda like GoT, I recommend starting from the beginning to get the full experience

It's not like coming into a TV show on the 5th season and not knowing what's going on. they basically do the same thing every time so you can watch season 5 when it's out and watch the older ones after.

Yes but they discuss previous seasons in future seasons, so the anticipation of who wins (especially season 3 i think it was like a half point difference) would be ruined

TDLR: competition of two teams making extremely low budget computers with a variety of criteria each season. the budget may be variable or predetermined, the winning criteria change each season, and aside from linus and luke the people appearing on the show differ.

Good point. @Zackbare maybe just start watching from the beginning and hopefully by the time you're done, season 5 will be out.

It takes less time and effort to watch 30 seconds than to write a post.

Basically they are given a very tight budget and a theme they have to follow and they have to build a working computer out of it. It inspires creativity and shows that if your a computer enthusiast you do not have to be super wealthy to practice and build nice computers. I love it because it's very inspiring to young crowds who are going on eventually take are place one day. I would hope they learn how much fun it is to build and see your computer come to life.
