1) for 1200 you can build a pretty good pc

2) battery life depends on that you're doing

3) just buy another charger for the pc

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

Hey,

My friend has this and thinks it great:

https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/pdp/MSI-GL62M-7RD-Gaming-Laptop/productID.5087374600

It works well and has a 1050 inside, has a good charge and works well

Hope this helps

i do have a bit more money to spend than that however.

I'm not being funny, but why do people assume that people who post in this sub forum don't know about building their own pc which will probably be cheaper?

Hi pbx2 - if that is your real name.

I'm in a very similar boat, casting it's way in to the Brexitian unknown.

Considering everyone has either:

A: Suggested something proper weak.

B: Ignored you completely and said build a PC...

My research is currently getting my tentacles wet on an HP Omen for the money, but you would need to save and extra £200, but you get a GTX 1060, OR save 300 beans - I'm seriously feeling this bad boy - and you get a GTX 1070:

http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=Z9D99EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB

BUT WAIT!!! Did you click on the second link?? Who knows how long it lasts and I geniunely have no affiliation with HP, but code: FLASH10 gets 10% off and if you check out http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Offer.aspx?p=omen-offer you ALSO get a free Xbox Elite controller??!! WTF?!

Ignore me, this is for my eyes only.  You are welcome though :D

In fact mate, I'll be sploshing £609.10 over that budget...but one DOES get:

  • i7 7700HQ
  • 16GB RAM, rather that 8.
  • 256GB PCIe SSD + 1TB HDD
  • GTX 1070
  • 4k screen as opposed to 1080p
  • The free Xbox One Elite controller - I have an Xbox 360 controller...that I never use, but that's still £120 worth of hardware! (online selling bay anyone?!)

With the 'FLASH 10' code, this is surely a joke?!:

To reiterate, I genuinely have nothing to do with HP.  Pretty much everything I own is ASUS/Corsair and I wanted an ASUS laptop, but surely this is the best deal?

^ add in a 850 evo 500gb + 16gb CL14 Kingston and it's around the same price. better built. better cooled. better battery life.

Balls of Mary, nice Pendragon.  Not a fan of these 3rd party fat bottom girl encasings, but hey (you do get SO much more for the money)

I've never actually heard of a 3K screen til 4 minutes ago.  You could even wap in a 500GB EVO AND a 1TB EVO forroughly the same dosh.  What is this madness...

Ok, forgive me now, but on further inspection detailed tech specs suggest the PC Specialist has a thickness/height of 25mm, whilst the HP Omen is 32.9mm?  YET, the Omen looks about 1/2 the size of the PC Specialist in the pictures...I don't think I'll ever choose a laptop at this rate 9_9

PS. pbx2, thanks for letting us (me) hijack your post
