Why there is two models of WD Black 6TB with different specs?

RRGT19

well, you could've look at the chart - one (6002) has tiny bit better specs

my guess, it's a revision

looks like the 6002 is an "iteration" upon the 6001 to improve some suff.

the 6002 is slightly faster, and slightly more quiet.

The 6002 may be made with higher density platters.

For example,6001 may have 2 platters, 4 surfaces (1.5 TB per surface) while the 6002 may have 2 platters, 3 surfaces (one head less, 2 TB per surface) ... or one may have 2 platters while the other has 3. Bogus numbers, just to make it easier to understand.

You can see in the description that one is 0.75 kg while the other is 0.72 kg ... i don't think an individual platter is as light as 30 grams but it could be the weight of a read/write head and/or maybe a lighter revised circuit board.

There's also an increase in host to/from drive read speed which could hint a revised firmware or higher data density on platters (227 MB/s vs 218 MB/s) and slightly lower power consumption
