I know it sounds cliche as fuck but there's multitudes of people who watch anime at my school and they're fine with being called it. heck, even one girl who started calling me shit back like 'midget' jokingly. (I'm 5"6)

We had a conversation yesterday about the offerings of international channels on Pay TV in Australia, and Rika mentioned that one network has Japanese channels, whereas another has Korean channels. 

I'm not assuming that learning it == a fanatical obsession, I was forced to learn French and hated every bit of it, but some of my friends are learning Spanish and loving it.

Every addiction is mental. Its not the substance, its the way you think that is the problem, and the thinking needs to change.

 

If the doctor prescribes one sleeping pill and you take 2 or 3.

 

Drinking alcohol, phenomenon of craving happens and you cant stop at 2 like normal people do. Or you may be able to stop at 2 for a while. But normal drinkers have 2 and they feel sleepy. Others are just getting going.

 

Alcohol and Drugs are the exact same thing, Alcohol IS A DRUG. There is no reason to call yourself and Alcoholic AND AN Addict, makes no reasonable sense. Just pushes the fact YOU are different then the rest of the group. It also states your ignorance of factual information. But this is VERY common. Its like when people state the importance of things to do, number 1 is ALWAYS go to meetings, the last thing to do, or its on the last 1/4 of the list of things to do is work the steps. There seems to be a very heavy reliance on if you just go to meetings you will be RECOVERED. Very false that is. Sure I see some that do one a day, hear them speak and you want nothing they got.

 

Phony -insert name here-  "Millionare" Real Estate with 10+ yrs, Love and Money will cure you, maybe off the juice but still smokes the weed. I felt sad for him when he spoke of Crystals and the future one time, what a way to get a meeting going with that theme. What a joke.

 

Happy -insert name here- Christian, Bible thumper, talks a great game in the meetings, outside the rooms still a pen boy. Stealing money. 20+ yrs he's got. Hear a story about another guy, judge, stole money from the group.

 

No Nickname -insert name here- Reno King, high end, talks the talk in the rooms. Got pinched for minor fraud 15 yrs ago. Up on multi-million dollar fraud now. 15 yrs sober he has got. Havent seen him at the only room he goes to. Might be in jail, who knows.

 

The list of stories like these are endless.

 

My number 1 rule is - Dont lend money out unless its charity and you dont expect it back. It dont matter what the sob story is. Happy -insert name here- was driving a Volvo, 10 year old model, he drove me a few blocks to the Skytrain after a mtg, as slick as he can be he asked if I could spot him $20 for gas. LOL I already had a sense he was shady, that cemented it.

 

I have not seen a gamers anonymous meeting, but I know they are out there. I have seen Nicotine Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, Over-Eaters Anonymous, Al-Anon, Some strange ones called Adult Children of Alcoholics, Sex Anonymous is more for the pedophiles I think, but regular sex addiction is a problem.

 

 

 

 

Swapping addictions is so easy to do, I went from Booze, to Food, now PC addiction. When I was drunk I have seen others stop booze and/or drugs and gamble a shit ton of money. One guy 15yrs+ was a warehouse worker, placing $100's of dollars of bets on each square while drinking is Coke LMFAO.
