Attempted BIOS update, all is not well.

WamWooWam

Earlier today, I felt it'd be a good idea to update my BIOS on my brand new MSI B250M PRO-VD. So, I open Live Update. Hit the button, it downloads. A few seconds later it begins flashing... about 30 seconds later, black screen, no signal. Okay... I leave It for 2 hours ish, still nothing, I hit reset, nothing. Turn my psu off and on again. Start up... nope. No signal, no nothing.

Everything was running on the latest insider build of Windows 10 x64

I don't think I did anything i shouldn't have done, everything was downloaded directly from MSI's website, all up to date, all for my specific board. Nothing.

Help...?

I learned my lesson with MSI Live update on my Z87-Gaming..... you don't update BIOS from within Windows...ever!

Yea...It got bricked. I had to RMA it.

No dice with a CMOS reset. Should I begin contacting Amazon?

The little diagnostic LEDs do something, the first two light up, then nothing.

I know, but normally, manufacturers say "go to your retailer" and that's that

Never update your bios without resetting your bios to system defaults as well.  Bios updates are simple if you do them right.  The best way is to put the bios file on a usb, restart the computer, go into your bios, load system defaults, reboot, go into uefi bios flash utility upon reboot and direct it to your usb drive.

As others have mentioned, you are going to have to send the board to MSI.

Just return it to Amazon and get a replacement.  It's much much much fasetr than fucking around with the manufacturer.

yeh i'm 99% you've cooked your bios, you could try calling up msi and see if they will send you out a replacement chip (will be quicker than going through amazon and getting a replacement.

if the system won't post...

well lets just say a potato is more useful than you MB

RMA it and send it back and update the BIOS inside the BIOS itself, not windows
