I am currently planning to buy a second Nvidia GTX 660 Ti (as of right now the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC), and I was wondering if I would need to upgrade my power supply.

Here are my current specifications:

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K @ 3.4 GHz
Cooling: A CoolIT liquid cooler, the exact model has been lost in time.
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti FTW Sig. 2
RAM: 16GB of Kingston HyperX (1600 Mhz)
SSD1: 120 GB
SSD2: 256 GB
SSD3: 32 GB
HDD: 1 TB
MOBO: Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3
PSU: Raidmax RX-850ae (850 watts)

Additionally: I have a basic 24x CD/DVD drive, and a 5.25" fan controller.

If I add a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC what size power supply should I get as far as wattage goes?  Any specific models you would suggest would help too.  I am currently looking at a Seasonic PLATINUM-1000 (1000 watt) power supply, which seems like a good one, but it may be more than I need.

Also, if you disagree with my graphics card choice and have something that is similar to the power of the discontinued EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti FTW Sig. 2, feel free to let me know.

Thanks in advance!

You should be just fine with an 850 watt power supply for 2 660ti cards. I can't imagine that system pulling more than 675 watts under heavy load :)

Your 850w should be fine, maybe buy a better quality 850w as 1000w is overkill, my friend has a similar build to you but with 2x 580's and it uses around 850w so yours would use less then that.

Keep your psu or buy a better quality version of the same wattage

You will be fine. You could probably get a way with 680's in SLI on an 850, I wouldn't do it, but 660's no problem!

I may do that, because Raidmax is not exactly what I would now consider a "trusted" power supply brand.  Does either Seasonic or Corsair sound good to you?  Any other really good brands?  Also, thanks for the info!

A 750w would be enough to power these cards so your Raidmax psu should be able to handle this as it is more than enough to power this.

Yes they are my personal favorite and make beast psu's, if you want a quiet build the RM series from corsair are good, but anything from those two are good

Corsair PSUs are rebranded Seasonics if i remember correctly (so both are great!). I would also recommend cooler master, and Be Quiet! Power supplies! :)

750watt and less if your aiming to be efficient as possible get the seasonic fanless 550w-460w psu its expensive however its 80+platinum meaning........ well pretty darn great power delivery or grab a 650w Corsair RM series.

Raidmax are listed as a dangerous brand and could probably only delivery 600W or so, definitely replace it, however a good 850W should run it fine

Thanks for all the various suggestions and Raidmax jokes.  I plan on staying at 850 watts, but buying a new, better-quality power supply.

Only about half of less are Seasonic rebrand. The XFX PSU (seasonic rebrand) I linked before is probably his best option in terms of what he needs, price, and quality.

No, I think it should be able to deliver at least 800w, I don't think it's terrible but it is not a trustworthy brand at all, I wouldn't so much as consider buying a PSU from them. Running the kind of hardware OP is going to be putting on it I would not even take the slightest risk. A small investment can potentially save a lot of cash.

Get this card, and then nothing below 750W. I would recommend anything from Seasonic, Fractal Design or Silverstone. Also, some from Corsair.

Not all Corsair PSU's are rebranded Seasonics, some are also rebranded ChannelWell PSU's(which are also good).

Seasonic, XFX and Corsair are the brands I'd recommend.
