The problem : Stuttering in games every 1 second, its a minor stutter almost like a skip or hiccup, every 1 second.

OS : Win 10 64

Specs : in my signature, PSU 520w seasonic

Bios : Most recent F20 version on the H110M-A by gigabyte

That was following colonel mortis' always include thingy, if you guys want more info here is a ramble part.

So I noticed recently in my games a weird stutter that happens like every 1 second, I can record footage but it is very hard to see unless you are doing the gaming yourself, its super annoying, and I also noticed a buzzing sound very very quiet coming from the GPU that syncs with the stutters, so every time it stutters, the sound stops briefly, then goes again. Its like a tiny little bee buzz but higher pitched, can't record it because case fans are too loud, should I unplug them and try to record the sound? Note this issue is only while gaming.

Footage, also note the buzzing sound I mentioned.

Just checked bios and newer versions F5 and F20 are available, will update to F20 and see if issue continues. Not sure its a bios problem but doesn't hurt to update.

As suggested by Tech Deals I am going to try copying the BIOS to my flash drive, then updating it through the bios menu, didn't know I couldn't run a bios program in windows lol

A bios menu in windows is actually a UEFI and usally comes only with more expnesive, or modern mobos.

Still no resolve, nobody seems to know what the problem is, Micro center won't RMA my card, do I contact AMD or Sapphire? Also a new note I have noticed my card not staying at 99% usage when gaming, this is normal for certain titles but usually not in gears 4, its always been a heavy gpu hitter.

Update : the buzzing has stopped, but the stutter remains, monitoring afterburner the GPU is def at fault, its only at 35c and pulling 35watts when normally it would be at 50-60c and pulling 100+ watts, usage is also spiking but normally in gears it stays at 99%

Ok the buzzing being gone was because for some reason my card was underclocked to 650mhz core and 1000mhz memory, now all that is fixed the buzzing is back and still stuttering.

The buzzing is called coil whine, it happens sometimes with random combinations of GPU and PSU.

It's not bad and will not damage anything, it's just annoying.

The only fix is to replace your PSU or GPU until you find something that doesn't make the noise.

How did you install windows 10?

Usually this kind of stuttering is cased by people not clean installing it.

When I built the system, off a USB, then redeemed my code. Windows was then copied from my HDD to my SSD with a program, I can clean install but idk if ill need a new serial for windows or not cus I bought it cheap off ebay, dunno if it can be re-used.

Also, if its coil whine, why does it sync with the stutter? Ive had coil whine before and it never sounded like a buzz and it never syncd with stutter either... weird. Anyway if you cant help me sapphire will let me RMA it I think, they just want a receipt.

Ok so here's what you do:

1) move any important files from your SSD onto usb drives, google drive, your other hard drive, etc...

2) unplug everything except your SSD

3) follow this guide to clean install windows, you don't need to worry about your key.

If you are worried about anything happening to your key, just do this first before clean installing: https://www.howtogeek.com/226510/how-to-use-your-free-windows-10-license-after-changing-your-pc’s-hardware/

4) install any programs, update windows, etc...

5) plug your HDD back in and move your files back

6) hopefully everything works perfectly

Because coil whine happens when a certain event is processing through the GPU.

Usually people get it when in a certain menu, looking aat a certain object in game, and weird stuff like that.

Decided to take this time to format my HDD and wipe off those windows files from my earlier thread. All my HDD really stores is shit too big to go on my SSD anyway (games and music really) so I can format it without turning off the PC or anything, then once its done ill re-do windows on my SSD. @Enderman

Did you delete all the partitions until only unallocated space is left?

I'm not sure. I formatted my hdd before doing fresh windows. Then did fresh windows. It said it was GPT and couldn't get windows put on it so I formatted my ssd thinking it would help... wrong. Now I can't use my pc at all lol

Ok after doing some googling it turns out yes I did delete all partitions. Was I not supposed too? I formatted my hdd cus you told me too in my other thread when I said my pc rolled back. So then after fully formatting my HDD I rebooted into my usb to start windows, that's when it said all drives were GPT and couldn't accept windows. Then I formatted my SSD aaaaand rip using my pc
