It does nowadays, wasn't always the case though, older games wont get benefits but new ones like those you listed yes.

Does Hyper-Threading matter for games such as gta 5, battlefeild, farcry primal?

I mean 4 cores and 4 threads vs 4 cores and 8 threads, both clocked the same.

for newer titles it can make a nice differance

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

The literal answer to the question is yes. Whether you actually need it, or get enough benefit out of it to justify an extra $100 for an i7 over an i5, are other matters.
