WHAT IS RYZEN!?!?

Am i the only one on this planet that doesnt know what ryzen is??? everyone is telling me 'aaw wait for ryzen wait for ryzen' but i dont even know what the heck ryzen is!? I live in nz (New Zealand) so if this ryzen thing is amd and or not affordable then im not waiting for it cause prices for brand new, new release stuff is mental cuz!!! i juzt want to buy an i5 or i7 without getting this ryzen spam.

ryzen is amd's new line of processors there supposed to be really powerful for really cheap

Zen is AMDs upcoming CPU architecture, the first like of CPUs will be the Ryzen(AKA Sumit Ridge) chips. they will launch right at the end of february from what i know and will preform like 5th gen Intel in Instructions per clock which is a segnificant bump up from previous AMD architectures. People are telling you to wait because the cost of an I5 will buy you a 6 core 12 thread CPU with similar per core preformance, AKA way better price/preformance. Even if you dont want to buy a Ryzen CPU Intel will likely drop the price of there CPUs a bit and the used market will just flood with people jumping over to AMD from Intel so used Intel i5s and I7s will be cheap. the Ryzen launch is really not far off so there is no reason to buy a new CPU right now seeing as Ryzen will bring better preformance per $ spent no matter what team you are rooting for here

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

AMD can't afford for that to happen.. they know this, they know if Vega or Ryzen flop, Ryzen more than Vega, they have no chance of returning.
