AMD only DDR2 RAM?

I'm trying to buy some DDR2 RAM for my upcoming LGA 775 hackintosh build and I wanna pick up some more RAM, as 4GB's doesn't make my willy wet. On EBay there are TONS of 2x4GB kits of DDR4 at awesome prices, only problems are they say "AMD only" there's a lot of conflicting information on whether or not they actually work with Intel CPU's so I thought I'd just hop over here and ask what you guys think / know about this.

DDR2 is DDR2. There shouldnt be a restriction to AMD. AMD is quite popular in hong kong and china so that might explain why they put it in the title like that

If you win the lottery, these "AMD" chips may work with some motherboards with an Intel CPU. Many times, especially in the DDR2 world, AMD RAM will not work well on Intel CPU type boards. Find another seller, should cost you a bit more but not much.

If you do pick it up, please let me know how it works out. I've read that the AMD memory works fine for Intel, and I've read elsewhere that it doesn't work at all. Before I go snapping some up for my C2 PCs, I'd like to see for sure.

I've read the only reason why it's labeled this way was because AMD was stuck on DDR2 for a lot longer than Intel (just like DDR3 lel).

have 1 stick of 4gb ddr2, from a local company. worked just fine with an intel mobo but it wasn't listed as AMD only.

There's a difference. 'AMD only' is 'high density' and some Intel boards (like mine) don't support high density RAM.

Hey, landed on this thread while searching for the same info as you. Since it was in February, I'm guessing you did buy the ram. How did it go ?

I bought some of this DDR2  AMD only ram and placed it in an old Dell 530 machine, won't boot with it in and, I tried it with the other memory I had first and on it's own but, no good at all. Wasted a little bit of money on them but, that's life.

I bought 16gb of high density "AMD only" RAM a little while ago. While I can get two sticks to run in my FX 4300 PC, I can not got any to run in my Xeon rig or an i7 2600 rig. Please don't do it. It'll be money wasted.
