Laptop battery life

Go to solution Solved by Hunter06,

it used to be a problem in older lithium ion battery but now its not. infact its better to keep it plugged in because a batterys life depends on number of full discharge. i.e if your battery is rated for 1000 full discharge then its supposed to last at least full battery drain 1000 times before it starts to show problems. there are other factors at play too but it is one of the major factor. So, if u keep it plugged in its not being dicharged and u are supposed to extend its life.

Hi there

Here's the thing. My laptop (asus g501j) lays almost all the time on the table with ac adapter plugged in. So, that means it constantly charges (isn't it?). Does it harm the battery's lifetime?

Thank you in advance!
