Looking for a thin Laptop with outstanding battery and dedicated GPU

Hey i am posting here because i need help finding a laptop to buy.

I was considering to buy the new macbook pro with the GPU, but i dont like the ports thing, so, i'd rather buy a good windows laptop that would last me for a long time.

I am looking for the perfect ultrabook with: really good battery life; nvidea or amd gpu, 6/7th gen intel i5/i7 processor, 16+gb ram, not bigger than 15 inch (i don't want a 15.6 inch laptop!), and SSD only (no HDD).

I won't buy it today, so if you guys know about any upcoming laptops in the future months you can post about it too

thanks in advance!

PS: 2500 usd max  budget (if there's one for 1000 better!)

You could also go with the Dell XPS 13 if you want one a bit smaller.

There probably is, but you're looking at something that's barely better than Intel's GPU. For the amount of performance it'll offer, it doesn't justify either the cost or the extra battery life it'll take.

EDIT: I take that back, the Surface Book with the keyboard dock has a decent GPU. It's not great, but definitely better than what others would be offering.

There is no 15 inch standard for laptop size, you get either 13.3, or 15.6 or sometimes 14".

Why is the extra 0.6" so bad for you? If you look at 15.6" laptops you will get thousands more options.

The XPS15 is a 15.6" laptop but with the thin bezels it is as big as some 14" laptops.

So screen size =/= laptop size.

the XPS 15 fits the bill the best. It is a bit bigger than a 14" laptop, but very small for a 15.6"

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

FYI this will likely cost you $250-500 extra (depending on size and type of SSD)

When companies say 15" it usually pertains to the screen size, not the chassis. The Razer Blade 14" would be one of the closest to 15" without spilling into the 15.6" catagory

This being said, the new XPS 15 is your best bet, although you will need to buy a 16GB SODIMM kit to replace the included 8GB kit and buy a PCIe SSD if you want more than 256GB of SSD storage.

256gb ssd is fine, and as soon as it doesn't fuck up the warranty i will gladly upgrade to 16 or 32 gb, i have here a 15.6 screen removed from an old laptop, and since it almost has no bezels the laptop is basically the size of the screen.

i'm really liking this laptop, the only problem (which is not a problem at all) is: it is not for sale in portugal, yet. it will be in a few weeks, so, once it is up, i'll get it !

thanks guys

you can get a XPS 15 with 16gb of ram and 512gb ssd straight from Dell for 1700$, heck they even sell a 32gb and 1tb option for 2500$

No that would be a tarriff, we don't have those (at least not yet, barring our new President doesn't make one).

True only for the early 2016 GTX 960M models, late 2016/ early 2017 1050Ti (incorrectly shown as 1050 on Dell's website) models only go up to 8GB RAM and a 256 GB NVMe SSD.

On a side note what country are you from, this will likely impact what is readily available for you to purchase.

If you are in the UK you get slightly different prices and options than the US; up to 512GB SSD, and 16GB of RAM with a GTX 1050Ti.

Sorry for the confusion/Dell offering different options in different countries. (Dell's website and options are somewhat stupid like that)

Here is Dell's UK website, again sorry for any (very likely) confusion.

Are you sure that is a 1050ti?  I am pretty positive its only the 1050.

If you don't live in the US, then just go to your countries dell website and then you wont get tax or VAT, it will be paid when you pay for the laptop.

Also the Dell XPS 15 has a 1050. When it comes to laptops then a 1050 comes in both 2 and 4gb varriants, this is comfirmed by a dell employee.

It also shows here that there is a 4gb of 1050.
