New build PC Front audio jack and USB 3 not working

Hello guys!

 

I have upgraded my pc, basically rebuild a whole pc.

Hardware:

 

- NZXT S340 Elite

- MSI Z270 Gaming pro Carbon

- I7 770K

- Vengeance LPX D4 16GB

 

Thats all the necessary information (I Think). So after using my OLD SSD, the front headphone jack was still working. I installed a NEW SSD (Samsung 500GB) and reinstalled windows and installed the firmware and drivers etc from MSI through their website and live update after i restarted i got the BSOD and windows reset itself and rebooted. Without the Front headphone jack working, and ONE of the TWO installed front USB 3.0 jacks working. I tried to reinstall the drivers several times but it wont work. Even the original Realtek drivers wont change anything.

 

I tried installing the drivers for the USB manually aswell but this diddnt have any effect. When i use the USB to see if it gives power it doesnt. But i believe since the connector is installed and one of the USB ports is working that it must be a driver issue, as one driver is unknown in my device manager aswell.

 

I hope you guys can help me find out whats wrong, i have no clue anymore

Triple check the connectors are correctly plugged in. I've built and fixed over a dozen computers and have messed up that part of the build more than once.

Agree, check connectors.. and if still no luck, check you haven't messed up the mounting of the mobo, check to see that you have the standoffs in correct places and no extras that shouldn't be there and nothign touching the traces on the mobo and causing a short circuit.

Allright guys, thanks! But for the Audio part im still wondering about why it wont work. Im pretty sure its hardware since the connector does work for the microphone, and it worked before i reinstalled windows.

 

What do you guys think?

Plug it in again. It's very likely you put it on the wrong pin or something simple like that. If that doesn't work, tell us and we'll come up with another solution.

I took the plug out cleaned it and put it back in already, i mean before i installed the new SSD on the same system it worked. The only thing changed is that the new SSD and drivers installed doesnt make it work. And then when i install the official MSI drivers my system gives BSOD.

OK guys, i will give you some more information. I managed to get the second USB 3 port working by putting the connector into another output. Fairly simple solution and everything seems to work so far!

 

But for the audio i still have no clue!
