I've recently built my own PC, and I am in need of a keyboard. I need some help picking one out though,

I'm looking at the Tesoro Gram Spectrum and the Corsair Strafe RGB.

Coming from using a Mac keyboard all my life, I'm used to the low profile keys.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

I would highly recommend MX Brown switches, or MX Blue switches.

If you want to type on the keyboard, not just game, then don't get MX red switches.

Before you start I would suggest getting one of those key switch testers. Try to find a switch you like best. They're not the best solution but it's better then nothing.

In my unprofessional opinion, I would stay the strafe is good(or anything else corsair), I like the feel of my roommate's Razer Blackwidow, and Logitech makes good keyboards.

If you've got a local bestbuy try some keebs out there to see which switches you like the best...

other than that personal preference I dont really like the gamery keyboards, more clean and minimal ones

If you dont care about modding your keeb then stick with the corsair

If you do then go for the Masterkeys pro S/L or ducky one/TKL

I just switched to a K65 RGB Lux from a Logitech G15, and i'm still getting used to it. I'm still catching other keys and the other half has noticed the increase in typing volume (like she noticed straight away!) I'm also still getting used to the key activation, they take very little and I find myself strafing a lot in FPS games xD,  so that is something to keep in mind when moving over to mechanical keys.

well do you want a TKL or full? for a full keyboard i can highly recomend the Corsair K70(but IMO the LUX looks like shit) and cherry brown switches if you play games and type or cherry blue switches if you dont really play games. Razers switches just feel cheap, light and inconsisten from my experience so i would stay away from those and the same can be said for Khali switches. i have a QuickfireTK that im pretty happy with and it has cherry blues, i like it when typing but for games its pretty bad IMO and for games and typing i prefer cherry browns, they are really nice to type on and IMO way nicer then cherry red switches in basically every way seeing as you feel when the key has activated.

i would not recomend getting a new QuickfireTK seeing as im not a fan of how it works as a keyboard with the FN key beeing a long press toggle and numlock turning off some keys backlight when you want to use the numpad, its strange but not bad and seeing as i got it for $25 im happy with it. the K70 is probably the best keyboard iv had my hands on and i perfer it over everything else iv tried, with that said i havent tried much from Logitech but i have tried Razer and cheaper mech keyboards that use Khali switches and its not a nice experience when going from a K70.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

Some things to keep in mind;

- Coming from an Apple keyboard you'll be used to accessing media controls etc without using a function key (as it should be). So finding a keyboard with dedicated media keys will help the transition (from my own experience).

- You mention enjoying lower-profile keyboards, so what I'd suggest is going with MX Browns (my personal favourite) unless you like super loud MX Blues, then using two layers of rubber O-rings to really reduce the travel. That's what I've been doing for quite a while and it makes a world of difference.

I'd probably recommend the G610 with MX Browns, just because it has proper media keys, no gaudy "gamer-bling" and is built really well, especially given how cheap it is.
