Posted February 2, 2017 Hi, Looking at doing a delid and Coollaboratory Ultra on a 7700K once I get into Kabylake/Z270. What I want to know is: - Should I also use it on the IHS or just regular thermal paste? Currently running a Cryorig R1 Ultimate. - Can I also use it for the GPU? Also what can I use to glue the IHS back onto the chip? If you want to use the liquid metal it may be a god idea to coat over any capacitors near the CPU and such with a nail polish as an extra insurance to prevent shorting. As for putting the IHS back on I believe intel uses an epoxy so a small amount will do it. Updated Modding FAQ
 Can I also use the liquid metal on a GPU die with an air cooler? Nail polish is nice since it doesn't really add thickness or bulk but if you can get it to conform well kapton tape should be just as good.
