How do you test headphones?

If you guys buy a new pair of headphones how do you guys test them to know if there are defective,because I just bought a pair of Superlux HD 681 Evo's for gaming and Youtube vids?

 

What are the symptoms of bad headphones?

Just use them, don't really need a amp per say, but one never hurts.

get some songs that you listen to a lot and try them out on the new headphones or earbuds :P if they sound good, they sound good.

I used to measure the frequency response and graph the impedance curve, but that doesn't change the way it sounds so now I just listen to them instead.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
