Corsair Dominator Platinum is not compatible with Noctua NH-D15 - best solutions

So be aware guys that  Corsair Dominator Platinum is not compatible with Noctua NH-D15 , i just purchased these and i realized that i couldnt fit them together on my motherboard due to their height ;( I was thinking if i should remove the heatspreader of my RAM , would that make them fit ? Removing the heatspreader will decrease my performances and increase temperatures ?

P.S : I wont remove one of the cooler's fan to fit the RAM

Why not put the cooler's fan on the other side of the heatsink?

Or return those Doms and get something that's not overpriced :P

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I'm not sure what to make of that. Is that how you have it set up?

You can always try to see if it fits ;)

And if not, you only lose 1-2C from running the D15 single fan. Noctua actually released a revision called the NH-D15S, which has a single fan, better clearance for tall RAM and AICs on the first slot, and only 1C less performance.

Memory heat spreaders are more eye-candy than anything else. The only real reason that you wouldn't want to remove them is that you run the risk of damaging the memory module while removing them, if you aren't careful. Assuming you get them off without damaging the module, you will not notice any difference in performance and the thermals will be very close to modules with heat spreaders. Basically, the only thing you will lose is bling.

Apparently this guy managed to fit Cosair dominator platinum RAM with nh-d15 by removing the heatspreaders and raising up the fan a bit :D
