The Acer has a higher contrast ratio (whatever that means) but the LG has more ports.  I'd probably go with the Acer.

If I were buying, I'd buy the Acer. I've used that particular model before and its colors aren't offensive (as in bad).

LG monitor having a DisplayPort is really nice. But personally they are both 1080p 144hz so go with the cheapest

My GPU is a gtx 1070 g1 ... only has x4 HDMI and x1 DVI D port.

No it doesn't, no 1070 does... It has 3 DP 1.4, 1 HDMI 2.0b, and 1 DVI D

  • 1440p - this is fine, but not what OP asked for.

I have seen the 1440p version of the Acer and it's an alright panel. Not the greatest colors, but it's an 144Hz panel so what can you ask for.. I don't have any opinions on the LG one.

Okay, but why Acer?? It says that in order to get 144Hz, you need to use the DVI D port because the other ports only support 60Hz ..... Is HDMI not a better display port than DVI D in general??

 

Plus, the other issue now is my current monitor ONLY has a DVI D input and a VGA input ...... How am I going to hook up my 2nd monitor if the Acer monitor is going to be using my only DVI D port on my GPU??

 

Is it possible to hook the 2nd monitor up on my Motherboard and use it that way?? Only want to use it instead of minimizing my games when I need to surf the Net
