Hi Guys

So my main display is an Asus pg278q which, as you all know, has a TN panel. Now I've been thinking of adding another 27" 1440p display next to it. I kinda want an IPS panel because I'd keep the pg278q right in front of me and put the other display to its left, so IPS would ensure good viewing angles. Also I'd mainly use the second display to edit photos in Lightroom. I know a graphics artist from whom I am able to borrow a professional calibrator, I'd calibrate both monitors to look a similar as possible. But I am kinda concerned that the IPS panel might spoil my main monitor for me because of the better color reproduction. So do you guys think it will be an issue or should I be fine?

cheers

My main monitor is TN and it's surrounded by 3 IPS monitors, all of which have better colours. I've calibrated the TN monitor to be as close to the IPS monitors as I can get it, but the difference is still noticeable, especially when looking at a dark image. You do get used to it though, and it doesn't spoil the main monitor unless you've got the same thing on both displays.

When looking from the side, it will be really obvious. I saw a similar Asus panel to the one you have in a store a couple days ago and when looked from the side the whites became yellow, while the IPS panels kept the white.
