Any bad experiences with Sapphire?

What are you planning to get anyway? Anything custom cooled should be decently quiet no?

An RX 480 4GB Gaming X or Strix, whichever is cheaper when I buy.

I want it more for OC than actually playing games xD

If I can find an R9 Fury for below $300 equivalent I would jump on that too.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

- I know right first I was like Oooo cheap Strix 470 but it's nowhere near as good

- I don't want Pascal, overclocking on it is shitty. You dial in +100MHz and that's all you can do. I wanna get to be the guy on LTT with a 1.5GHz RX 480.

my OCing experience with it: can't get past 1300MHz without it throttling due to not enough power (even with +100mV and +50% power limit).

Tried manually dialling voltages in wattman, nope.

Did I also mention how while overclocking my RX470, it triggered my PSU protections 3 times?

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Does it count if I've fried a sapphire 290X reference? I mean it kicked out before my powercolor 290X reference so points off?

The XTS? that's weird and might have to do with it being multi-rail

And well, the best (only) way to overclock a Polaris based card is to get a custom BIOS to increase the power target and allow you to set 1.4V.

Check my sig xD

XFX is f*cking with us UK consumers, the XTS in the UK is actually the proseries 1kW limited black edition :)

Agh, too much effort...

edit:

The power supply can deliver 996W to the single +12V rail, or 83A. Extremely impressive figures

From kitguru, like I remembered as a single rail PSU :P

480 at high clocks cooled well would kick total ass

but my 1070 is still good at stock, last time I overclocked an nvidia card my 770 one of the memchips died haha

idk

In my time in the forums I had heard that Sapphire had pretty good to good customer service, just from word of mouth. But I was talking to someone on this thread that described a pretty abysmal RMA process. So I wanted to ask you all, how all of your experiences have been with Sapphire RMAs, how they were handled and if you ran into any problems.

And I've been thinking about setting up a new RMA thread, now that @thekeemo has stopped being active. That RMA experience thread was very useful.

my HD 7850 from Sapphire work fine full OC from 2012 until 2016

the fan cooler is the 1s part that break
but the new "Sapphire" model RX 460 line, have fix that problem

i never RTM my card

so, what can i say from Sapphire ?

they do great cards "very well designed" with cheap materials

and deliver the best price/performance from the market

this is good for the budget buyer :x

but not good for the long time buyer :$

I've no bad experiences with Sapphire, and my 290 is still partially kicking.

duknow what you mean by that but the card i have is a Tri-X lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I have a card by them but never needed their customer service.  I know they're a good name in AMD cards through so hopefully I'll never need it :P

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
