Sapphire Radeon R9 290 priced at €349

sapphire_r9_290_4gb_gddr5-_no_activar_4.

One of the biggest European retailer has just updated its website with the new Radeon R9 290.

Prices on PCComponentes are usually very accurate prior to the official announcements. R9 290 is listed for €349, this should convert into 400 US Dollars and £300.

Sapphire Radeon R9 290, which we’ve seen few days ago with a previous leak, looks exactly the same as 290X. Card is equipped with Hawaii PRO GPU with 2560 Stream Processors. Besides that we have 4GB GDDR5 memory and 512-bit interface. The R9 290 is a direct competitor to GeForce GTX 780 (the non-Ti and non-GHz version).

Only $400!?!?

If my predictions are correct, it will perform like a 780 and cost $100 less!

A good value if the price is true.

Lets hope Nvidia drops prices again :)

O_O this price is insane.

Console optimisations and how they will effect you | The difference between AMD cores and Intel cores | Memory Bus size and how it effects your VRAM usage |
How much vram do you actually need? | APUs and the future of processing | Projects: SO - here

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

I believe this card will be what the 7950 was to the 7970, almost the same card but just a little worse however much better in terms of price to performance.

Oh yes, this is the card I've been waiting for. Instant buy.

I expected it to be good price-to-performance, but this, this is INSANE.

£300 for a 780-like card is quite the insane deal.

imagine Nvidia drops prices of 780ti for $600 O____O

I don't think they're going to drop prices again even though they probably have to, otherwise AMD is going to stay as the best bang for the buck option. I'm going to wait till a new never settle bundle hits the r9 series and after that I'm going to drop some bucks on a 290 I think.
