USB 3.0 Ports keep disconnecting devices

Hello everyone

I am currently having problem with my USB 3.0 ports. They keep disconnecting my devices randomly for a couple of seconds then reconnecting. This is happening to the ports on the motherboard and on a USB 3.0 PCIe card.
I have tried reinstalling my chipset drivers but this had no effect.

I am on Windows 10. PC details are in my signature.

CPU: i5 3570
Mobo: P8Z77-V LK
Drives: 1TB 850 Evo,1TB 840 Evo
Graphics Card: 970 Strix

How did you install windows?

It was a fresh install from a USB, was quite a while a go.

CPU: i5 3570
Mobo: P8Z77-V LK
Drives: 1TB 850 Evo,1TB 840 Evo
Graphics Card: 970 Strix

this often happened (and drove me crazy) on my laptop. The settings are hidden in Control Panels / power management / change settings / change advanced settings / USB settings

Quote and/or tag people using @ otherwise they don't get notified of your response!

Should I disable "USB selective suspend setting"?
