Meet the first flip-phone powered by a Snapdragon 800 - costs over $1600

TopWargamer

Seeing as that you guys are still coming here and not to the original thread (I accidentally made a repost), I encourage you all to go discuss this in the original thread and show some love on Youbetternot's thread. Thought you all would have moved the discussion to there by now, but I guess I was wrong.

On the other hand, it does solve screens shattering when phones are dropped.

What if you drop it when the phone is open? Then you snap the fucker...

Not really I mean, it still has the keyboard to take the hit, but it can still happen yes, but far less likely.

For those saying 'this is stupid' then you're not paying enough attention. This phone is intended for an Asian market where there are different styles that are popular - the flip-phone form factor being one of them, yes it's damn expensive and yes I don't see why a flip-phone needs a Snapdragon 800 processor but that's not for me to say it's stupid because Samsung obviously have an agenda here. The point is though it isn't intended for Western markets.

Everyone's saying that Samsung is wasting their time and money making this phone. Trust me, It's extremely different here in the Asian market.

Quite probably because of all the bloatware?

Haven't had speed problems with my One.

Yeah probably, I mean isn't it because TW is so heavy and slows it down but I kinda like TW because I use most of the features like bringing down the notification bar when playing games and multi tasking on it.And stock doesn't have that only 4.4 has notification bar when your playing

I'll be honest. I've always hated bar-styled phones. I've always been disappointed that there were never any high-end phones with a flip phone form factor. Never have to worry about accidentally pushed buttons or screens (touch screens can be sometimes be activated in pants pockets with material), rarely have to deal with scratched screens, and I've never known anyone with a broken hinge when they dropped their phone, but i've known plenty of people with broken smart phone screens. Plus flip phones had the BEST implementation of one handed texting with minimal screen looking. The reason flip phones have the image of being cheap and crappy in Western cultures is because no one makes any good flip phones in Western nations.

If this was available in the U.S. for a less ridiculous price, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
