FreeSync on my monitor?

Ok so my monitor doesn't support freesync (I would assume, no DP) but I was wondering if this -> https://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/how-to-enable-amd-freesync-on-any-monitor.1571345/ <- would work and how safe it would be, I've seen it a few times online.

very often, if stuff like this actually *works*, it results in strange issues like flickering, iffy colors, etc. because the circuitry in the monitor is only meant to run the specific frequency it comes with out the box.
