LazyPigeon

I currently have an i5 - 760 and i wish to buy a graphics card. Should i buy a gtx 1060 or a gtx 1050ti. As i am scared of bottlenecks. Or could i even go for a 1070?

6gb one... I think its just better to take the 6gb one as its not that much more expensive and plus it delivers a lot more power,

Is your i5 760 overclocked?

1060. It is a much better option. The RX480 doesn't perform well in these titles, so I wouldn't recommend it.....

I think you are right, the 1060 does do better in those titles.

Overall, the 480 and 1060 are pretty close. In directX12 the 480 does better, so when titles are getting optimized for DX12 in the future, the 480 might be faster. A bit more future proof maybe. In most DX11 titles right now, the 1060 is a bit faster.

A GTX 1060 is around 10% faster in 2015 and older titles. The 1060 and RX 480 are neck and neck in 2016 and newer titles....

I actually made a post recently about bottlenecks with an i5-750 and a 1060 3gb. Someone commented that a i5-750 can handle a GTX 1080, so I wouldn't worry about bottlenecks.

If he is interested in nVidia exclusively then stop advising the rx480 or arguing so much about why is it a better cost-benefice in given situations, make it simple for the thread sake.

The GTX 1060 6gb is the best option considering your CPU and likely budget.

I don't understand all these "bottleneck" posts. Why is everyone so paranoid of bottlenecks? Even if you bottleneck, it just means you have a clear idea of what to upgrade next.

It's not like your computer is going to explode. Also, gpu vs cpu bottlenecking is application dependent. If you're running cinebench, that's technically a cpu bottleneck, your gpu is sitting there idle while your cpu is capped. Vice versa for something like heaven gpu benchmark. Your gpu is capped and your cpu is idle.

If you're playing really nice graphical games, get a nice gpu, it you're playing mmo's, get a mid tier gpu and upgrade your cpu.

Build: Intel S2600gz, 2x E5-2670, EVGA SC 1070, Zotac 1060 6GB mini, 48GB Micron 1333mhz ECC DDR3, 2x Intel DPS-750XB 750 watt PSU

Oh, you thought Nvidia has better performance in Mafia 2, i get you now
If you can get a 1060 6GB go for the cheapest one (usually it's Zotac Mini)
If it's out of your budget go for any 3 GB model of the 1060, based on price and features (color, RGB/LED lighting, Displayports etc.)
Please note that if they have the same ammount of VRam they have 1/2% performance difference between them
Good luck!

P.S i don't think your CPU will bottleneck that much even if you do get a 1060 6/3GB. If you must, you can upgrade your CPU/RAM (have at least 6-8GBs), but i doubt it will be necessary because you consider settling for a 1050ti which suggests you don't plan to max out every single game on 60FPS.

If I had an 1440p monitor would the rx 480 be better then? Cuz there would be a smaller bottleneck and more vram is better for larger monitors? As I am thinking of buying a 1440p monitor.
