I suspect that he's never been fired, but hey, why give up a running joke when the most watched episodes poke fun at the boss.

When was the last time they used that joke? It was a running gag in the early days of the WAN show, but I haven't heard of it in a while.

Firing is such a harsh term. I prefer to refer to it as "Renegotiating the contract".
