Shutdown but it reboots

specs:

MB: gigabyte G1.Sniper B7 (new)

CPU: I5 6600K (new)

GPU: R9 380 4GB

RAM: corsair vengeance lpx 2x4gb ddr4 3000 mhz (new)

PSU: cooler master g650m

Problem:

yesterday i upgraded my amd a8 and old MB and ram to the specs listed above.

everything seemed to work just fine untill i shut down the pc. because a few seconds after shutdown it just starts up again for no reason!

i've shut it down multiple times but it keeps starting up again!

what do i do to prevent this from happening?

Edit: what i currently do to prevent it from starting up is switching the power off.

hahahhahaha it's quite frustrating isn't it?  like whack-a-mole

anyhoozles, go into your BIOS and shut off various wake-on-lan settings or wake-on-keyboard/mouse.  that should fix it.

also, (for googlers coming here), if your system won't stay in standby or hibernate, go into device manager and under the properties for the mouse and keyboard there will be "allow this device to wake this computer" checkbox.  Also there's network controller preferences to disable wake on lan / magic packet.
