Details of upcoming AMD "Kabini" APUs

Looks like more AMD APUS, for the budget gamers. So this is some details of the new AMD Kabini APUS. Note there is no comfirmed or rumored launch date yet.

In June, AMD leaked model numbers of presumably upcoming mobile processors in a list of supported products for the Catalyst Windows 8.1 Preview driver. The list mentioned E1-2200, E1-2600, E1-2650, E2-3100, A4-5100, A4-5150, A6-5250 and A6-5350 Accelerated Processing Units, based on "Kabini" low-power core. Their features were not known at the time, but now AMD revealed details of three APUs from the list. Based on published information, AMD E1-2200 and A4-5100 are incremental upgrades to existing E1-2100 and A4-5000 models. The third SKU, E2-Series E2-3800, is more than just an upgrade of existing E2-3000, as it offers twice as many cores and twice larger L2 cache.

AMD E1-2200 dual-core microprocessor runs at 1.05 GHz, that is 5% higher than the E1-2100 model, which is currently in production. Remaining characteristics of both APUs are identical. The E1-2200 has 1 MB shared cache, and it integrates HD 8210 graphics, clocked at 300 MHz. The processor supports DDR3-1333 memory and fits into 9 Watt thermal envelope.

AMD E2-3800 and A4-5100 are quad-core chips, both having 2 MB of L2 cache and 15 Watt TDP. The E2-3800's CPU cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz, and HD 8280 graphics is clocked at 450 MHz. The A4-5100 operates at 1.55 GHz. Since higher frequency is the only difference between this model and the A4-5000, we expect that the 5100 will be up to 3.3% faster. The APU comes with HD 8330 integrated graphics, that runs at 497 MHz.

ROFL, gg AMD you will put intel, and every heatsink manufacturer out of business, because this will be cheap, and will require no heatsinks at all to run, if you need to cool it down, you just pass your hand gently over it

ikr, about time AMD learned how to make an efficient CPU. Lets hope it's not a pig as a result of the low power consumption.

Seems more like a laptop APU than a desktop one so I doubt you'll see these in your local computer store.

I'm pretty sure these are mobile parts. The super low tdp, low frequency, low everything.

Id like to see their upcoming CPU's. Particularly the big brother to the 8350. Dont know what they will call it considering they used 9000 series already with the 9590.
