Win 7 Fresh Install Doesn't Recognize Ethernet.

Fellow Techies,

I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Years celebration.

 

I have an issue with a fresh install of Windows 7. Windows 7!?! Yes that is right. Win 7 does not recognize my Ethernet (Yellow flag). However Win 10 on the same machine has no problems. If I use my cellphone's hotspot with tethering, then it works fine. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on? I have installed and deleted the Ethernet Port driver three times for good measure.

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

assuming the board in your sig is what you're talking about

install chipset 1st, NIC 2nd

I already have the drivers installed. I am getting over 4,000 packets sent and over 15,000 received.WTF!?!

I ran ipconfig and I got a IPv4 Address, a Subnet Mask, and Defulat Gateway. Media State is disconnected and I got a connection specific DMS Suffix. FYI

I finall figured out what the hell was the problem. Win 7 or the router was giving it some stupid @$$ ip address and so I manually set the IP, Default Gateway, and the DNS Server. Once I did that... BAM! It connected immediately. SMH. So problem solved. If anyone needs a walkthrough on how they should go about this please let me know.
