I Heard You Like RGB, Because Thermaltake Just Made an RGB Power Supply

Dude, have you even seen gummy candy from Japan? That stuff practically glows in the dark. RGB food has been around, and as usual, Japan came up with it first.

I've built three different computers in three Thermaltake cases. Frankly, I don't get the hate. The cases of theirs I've worked with are easier to build in than some Fractals, and with better cable management space to boot.

Thermaltake: Cheap, thin, aluminium POS that have far worse tool-less mounting than my old steel case from 2004, even at over twice the price.

Also a newsflash: if you can see the RGB fan in your PSU, you've got the thing mounted wrong.

Well, not if you have a dust filter installed in a non air-conditioned room...

There are two types of people in the world. There are people who say, "Hmm, I'm going to need to use a dust filter to keep my PSU clean in this environment," and then there are those who go, "Oh snap, this one's got an RGB fan inside!".

i don't get why people are saying a PSU shroud will make this PSU redundant... most shrouds are removable and this one is modular.

And then people see the huge mess of cables you have.

Not to mention some shrouds add extra functionality such as more SSD mounts.

Thermaltake has an open air, wall-mountable case (Core P5); looks like that PSU is made for it.

A niche market indeed but some people really buy stuff like these.

Let's make an RGB strip that, when you turn it off, makes another strip of RGB LEDs turn on!

This proves my thought that this brand is a stupid dota / csgo tournament sponsor, they're like 90% display and 10% functionality.

I've never been a big one for RGB lighting, except on LEDs on the GPU and perhaps the pump on an AIO. Otherwise, I feel RGB lights seem to artificially change the color of everything in the PC, which I personally don't like. I like to have white LEDs that make water cooling setups or colored GPUs, CPU coolers, or mobos shine. That's just my opinion though.

I don't know if you realized that thermal take released the ToughPower DPS Gold RGB in higher wattage capacities a couple of months ago. Inwin had PSUs with LEDs in it in 2006 (Powerman IP-P460Q3-2) and Corsair has a PSU with changeable LED colours (Red, Blue and White on Corsair GS (Lower wattage models only had blue leds)) in 2012.

This isn't new stuff anyway, and it is just a rebrand of the earlier CWT based ToughPower DPS Gold:
