Can't move my mouse or use my keyboard

So i just got a new gigabyte ga-Z170n-gaming 5 mobo for my transition into mini itx and sense then i've been having a major problem with windows 7, my mouse and keyboard arent working. so naturally i went into the bios and turned on emulation and they worked for a bit, long enough for me to start to install some drivers and then it said it needed to restart to take effect and it just wouldn't let me use my mouse/keyboard after.  I swapped back to my old mobo and reset windows and didnt think to install the drivers and i ended up bending on of the damn cpu pins on the old mobo so i cant even swap my part back into it. The bios version is F5 and here are my complete specs:

Mobo:Gigabyte GaZ170N-gaming 5

GPU:R9 380 4G(soon to be a 1060)

RAM: Hyperx fury 16gb stick

PSU: Corsair RM850x

HDD: Segate 1tb drive

CPU: Core I5 6500

I'm just at the end of my rope and any help would be amazing. PS: For the love of god dont suggest using a usb 2.0 port i bought an awesome case (Nano S) Whice im in love with other than the fact that its all usb 3/3.1 and im in denial about the fact that thats probably the problem or something. I even tried a ps2 to usb adapter and no results.

Once upon a time, I plugged a peripheral into a USB 3.0 port, and got an error message saying that I should plug it into a USB 2.0 port, or else it won't work properly.

Anyway...

Have you installed/updated

  • USB 3.0 drivers
  • Chipset drivers
  • Mouse/Keyboard drivers

?

i7 4790K || R9 290X + R9 290 || 16GB G.Skill TridentX 1866 || Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 || Crucial MX100 256GB || WD Caviar Blue 1TB

3.0 up to the 3.0 port, then the keyboard in one of the hub's 2.0 ports.

but non of the port work is the problem man, so by extension, the hub wouldn't work either
