Question to the 90´s Gamers out there

Praesi

Hi Folks.

I wonder if i´m the only one who think today´s MP Games lack something?

I cant realy point the Finger on it, but back in the Times of CS 1.0, Day of Defeat, HL1 ect.

I had many LAN Partys and over all the Games and its Community felt different back than. I played for Days and couldnt get enough. Now i play for 2-3 hours and im tired and kind of bored.

My Buddys feel the same.

Anyone here feel the same too?

nothing beats bf1942/vietnam & quake. You can play quake for free with improvements in games like warsow, Nexuiz & Xonotic. I think BF1 has brought back some of that outrageous fun of the original.

I abhor the fact that games don't make replayable campaigns like they used to. BO2 is the most recent game that I can think of that has a good MP and good campaign. It seems like developers are banking on the fact that gamers want to play the latest release with the majority of the population.

i dont know the name of it but that newer one with the river is awesome because I save my fire/explosive bullet pack until i can get my hands on the machine gun under the bridge. then I use a pistol until i reach the end and I blast the shit out of all the zombies with that machine gun with explosive or fire bullets! the map might be stream fever?

Hospital is No Mercy

Riverside is Death Toll

Stream Fever has a stream, not a river

It could also be Swamp Fever where you traven through a river at one point

I didn't like Left 4 Dead 2. It feels more like a generic shooter to me than a horror game (which is what I expected from the first). On Steam, it's actually on my "party game" list.

I've unfortunately come to the same conclusion, 15 years ago could easily get wrapped up in Starcraft for 10+ hours and today I'm lucky if I play a whole level on a fps campaign without getting interrupted by the wife or kids.

Yes. Because it was developed by Valve who makes FPS game. Nevertheless I enjoyed it a lot with all the mods and custom maps from community and especially Versus game mode

yea thats it no mercy & stream fever are the ones. There is one more that I really enjoyed and i wonder if you can name it. I think it was from the original L4D; had a house in a farm at the final stage; there is a tank or APC that picks up the survivours and its modelled after the original George Romero zombie film

Older games such as quake and unreal tournament were chaotic and fast paced. When Halo 1 came out I hated it because it felt so slow! Even racing games felt way different. Besides, the online community of most games has become very toxic. About 2/3 of all gamers are d*cks.

When that happens,  you might wanna go and exercise and get rid of the spare tire.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.
