GPU Fans @ 100% on boot up for about a second

Eeglis

I changed my powersupply from Seasonic G-550 to Seasonic PRIME 650 due to my little sister needing a PSU for her 1st PC. Swapped a PSU for my system, and now on boot ups the GPU's fans spin at 100% for about a second, maybe a little less.

GPU is Asus Strix 1080

I'm going to bed rn so expect replies from me in 8-9h

Thanks in advance.

Sweet dreams :)

I was going to say the same.. :D

Anyways, yes that's totally normal. No need to worry that you broke your GPUs.

I love Small Form factor ITX rigs.

So yesterday I got myself a new Seasonic 650w PRIME

After installing it I encountered an issue

Today I woke up booted up PC. Nothing. Fans spun for about 0.2sec and stopped. Fiddled around with cables. Removed mobo's battery. Nothing. Changed to the old Seasonic G-550 and I was able to boot up. Changed back to PRIME, once again not booting up. Is it just ded or am I doing something wrong?

tbh sounds like it is dead. If it works with the old psu and you plugged everything in the right way with the new one, it is dead.

RMA it

Darn, this is second power supply I've got myself that's faulty. I previously tried Corsair's MX650 which was making annoying electrical buzz every now and then under low load (idle)

You bought it to replace the 550 you gave for your sister's PC.

In that case might as well try the new one on her PC just to be sure its dead.

Trying the PSU on her PC.

UPDATE:

I sent it back, test team found nothing, charged me 40e. Issue repeated itself, contacted them again like "wtf guys", finaly arranged another RMA for it, they tested it for couple of hours this time, instead of one. Found the issue and are sending me a new one, should arrive by Tuesday and I will get my 40e back, since they adimtted that it was their fault.
