i run a dual E5620 setup , p much the same as yours just clocked lower , in CB they beat an I5 4570 (not shure what exact number , either 44 or 45...? )

think of those xeons like an I7 9XX , thats literally what they are

hope that gives you an idea

Edit , yours has more cores , 2c and 4t more respectively , so you are like an I7 920 but w/ 6c-12t

Thank you guys, its a trade for my current laptop, and I'm leaning towards it quite a lot if it doesn't perform worse than my current cpu (which one of them alone just performs underneath it) then I will probably make the trade.

get 12c24t for a laptop? fuck yea thats neat , does it come w/ a board? dual 1366 boards can be expensive (i got an intel OEM board [see sig] for ~80$ and that was CHEAP )

The gaming benchmarks with one of those will be the same for two of those.

The thing is games don't use a lot of cores there are only a handful that actual even use 8 threads, so you will have one cpu just idling basically while the other does all the work, and because of the low clockspeed the performance will not be great.

It is a hair faster then an i3 6100 for gaming (quad core speed), but not by much.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •

At least for siege I tried a 4.8ghz g3258 vs an AMD quad core 860k, the 860 performed WAYYYY better, keeping in mind I did underclock the 860 for this test to 3ghz flat so I think it uses 3-4 cores.
