Corsair launches 3000MHz RAM

Salmiakbal

Wouldn't the really bad timings bring the RAM down though? 12-14-14-36 Or would the higher speed compensate for the bad timings?

Both of those factors don't even matter in 90% of scenarios. Only reason for getting fast ram is if you have an AMD APU setup. But if you've got 750 to blow on ram, you're not really going to get an APU...

For comparison, 8GB of Dominator Platinum DDR3 2666MHz costs €170 where I live. This RAM has a $580 markup for 333MHz more...

It doesn't even have a nice heat sink! :-(

if it was a 64GB kit then I'd understand that price.

but $750 for low profile heat spreaders, high voltage,2x4GB kit,and an already attainable clock speed...yeah no.

I don't even use 2100MHz of Ram...lets not even talk about 3000MHz...

$750 is way too much. They need to lower that price. You can attain that speed already, so it's a huge waste of money.

Who would need 3000mhz for ram anyways except for benchmarking?

If you're using a RAM disk, it would be helpful there. Not only that, but suppose you do things where the cores need to keep being fed with data(i.e. converting files), the extra RAM speed will improve performance big time.

A lot of the good Z77 boards support 3Ghz RAM.

I'd rather wait for Samsung to release their 16gb DDR4 RAM sticks

The best way to predict the future is to invent it

Because there is still a slight performance boost from it.

First off thanks for mentioning me Linus, it's a weird feeling to have someone across the ocean mention your name :D

Sal-miak-bal with the ''a'' being pronounced like the a in ''mall''. It's a Dutch treat :p

Or just Sal for short :D

You get an LN2 kit with it so yeah that kinda explains the price a bit.

how do you figure?it costs $50 separately

I'd rather buy the awesome corsair Dominator ram at 2666mhz for $170

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233355

and the buy the LN2 kit that was made for them, not the vengence ram that corsair is selling it with for $750.

and overclock it to 3+ghz myself
