I'm looking for like bench mark comparison.

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-6950X-vs-AMD-FX-9590/3604vs1812

The 22 core Xeon only has one benchmark so its possible it could be better than the 6950x, but hard to tell as theres alot more 6950x benchmarks

If you take the best amd cpu on the market and the best Intel cpu on the market and put them head to head..... how far ahead is Intel ?

Somewhere between 10%-50% depending on the workload.  BUT, the problem with your statement is AMD doesn't compete with Intel's highest end CPU.  Their A88X platform (the newest platform AMD offers) has the A10-7890k and that is directly competitive with the Intel Core i3-3100/Core i5-6400 (obviously not the highest end CPU Intel offers).  AMDs newest Enthusiast platform (990FX) has the FX-8350 which went head to head with the Intel Core i5-2500k (a four generation old product),

The correct answer is AMD does not compete at all with Intel's top of the line offerings.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Really  an unfair comparison since the pile driver fx series was released in 2012, comparing it to an ivybridge cpu is a better comparison to the actual competition it faced when it was released.

And now you can get 8350s with wraith coolers for cheaper then an i3 so their competition on intel's side has shifted as well.

He stated the best intel chip vs the best amd chip, thats what i compared, i know its hella unfair :P

I'm more than ready for AMD to release something competitive enough that it forces Intel to pump out whatever they've already developed and not felt like releasing.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Intel will most likely always be ahead of the game

That all depends on what "game" you are talking about there multiple different market segments that both amd and intel, as well as other cpu makers for arm chips and such compete over.

There is server, enthusiast, mainstream, mobile, arm cpus, and such.

If you look at something like all of the current gen consoles the ps4, and xbox one both use amd cpu/gpu combos.

Then there is also ssds which amd and intel both make.

When I say ahead of the game, I mean ahead of the game. Intel makes great SSD's I would spend money on one, if I wanted to that is. Arm chips are specifically made for phones or servers, maybe consoles. Hell the Windows RT tablet had a ARM chip, that thing sucked though.

Price per performance is an interesting point. but it seems that amd has nothing that is at intels performance levels or close. I would lIke to see zen be decent. even if zen Isent like head to head with 6700k crazy good kinda thing... it would be nice if it was good enough so people could get higher power on budget gaming.

This is like comparing the best Ford against the best BMW. You'll get a better Ford for your money compared to any BMW, but BMW do have an F1 team.

While I agree with the idea of what you're saying, I'm pretty sure BMW's Sauber team broke back off and are now using Ferrari engines. BMW isn't in the F1 game anymore.
