Firefox on Windows

SCHISCHKA

It's e10s (electrolysis), the newish multi-process system in Firefox. Currently in the release channel it splits into two processes, one for your web content and one for your plugins, to help sandbox them. The plan is to slowly widen it's scope, separating the Firefox UI, each tab to its own thread, etc.

There will also likely be some more independent processes for the stuff they're bringing in from Servo to keep a crash in that stuff from locking up your browser.

Note, if you have a lot of add-ons e10s is probably automatically disabled, since most things that need accessibility features won't work with it unless they're updated to support it.

i literally randomly checked the update earlier saw 50.0.1 then switch to 50.0.2 within a few seconds after   got it fresh as f**k !

Edit: i've disabled the automatic update, hence the significance of that chance on manually checking.

Details separate people.

Isn't that the thing where they split the content into a separate process? The same way Chrome splits tabs into new processes, except on a more limited scale.

You might be correct with that.

Chrome also does this thats true.

To me those 2 sepperate splitted processes makes Firefox feels more sluggish.

And yeah i still have a scrolling problem wen having java applets open like a game.

Its a bit weird but to me the new FF feels buggy.

Also tried waterfox.

I remember reading that this is the backdoor that FBI exploited to catch all those TOR-users.

it only works if you have JavaScript enabled. Which is what annoys me about tor. It comes with security set to low, JavaScript enabled, and embedding (noscript) that allows you to be unmasked .

code of the exploit can be found https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-talk/2016-November/042639.html

On a slow PC, does one choose speed of an old version, or security, but live with a slow browser?

I'm not concerning about "security", but one thing is FBI and NSA.  Why didn't they leave us alone?!

This exploit was used to deliver code very similar to what the FBI used back in 2013 when they were hunting pedophiles.

It's just that this time it seems like the code is used by a server hosted in France, using certificates from a website called energycdn which is known for hosting and redirecting to both pirated materials, as well as malware.

It seems like the exploit is also used on a child porn website called The GiftBox Exchange, according to Vice.

Gotta love how instead of protecting us like the FBI should, they keep security exploits a secret which then gets exploited by people with less than good intentions.

its sad how much people missunderstand what tor is and how it works

FBI's FUD is working very well
